Volunteer Opportunities at OTMDC

 

OTMDC has several volunteer areas available, each with different responsibilities:

 

Non-Professional Roles:

• Spanish Interpreter (or other language)

  • Check Spanish line voicemail and interpret messages, pass messages along to staff, call patient back with message reply.

  • Help staff at check in/out with interpretation if needed.

  • Work with care team and patient if interpretation is needed.

  • General clerical tasks if interpretation is not needed at that time.

• Clerical

  • Help with tasks such as phoning appointment reminders, filing, organizing, general office tasks.

• Events & Outreach

  • Support staff at outreach events.

  • Support staff with event organization, set up, clean-up.

  • Visit local businesses to inquire about sponsoring events or donating items for raffles at events.

• Dental Department (not licensed/certified/professional)

  • Shadow various staff in the dental department

  • Pull charts.

  • Make reminder phone calls.

  • Clerical tasks.

• Medical Department (not licensed/certified/professional)

  • Clerical tasks for a minimum of 30 hours.

  • After 30 hours shadow a care team.

  • Working directly with patients is not available at this time.

 

Professional Roles:

• CMA/RN/LPN (certified/licensed)

  • Fill in for staff.

  • Work the immunization clinic.

  • Support staff at outreach or events.

• Physician/Specialist/Nurse Practitioner (licensed)

  • Work directly with patients on their care.

• Dentist/Hygienist/Dental Assistant (licensed/CDA/RDA)

  • Work directly with patients on their care.​
