Our History

Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center (OTMDC) was formed in 1993 to address the needs of Greater Williamsburg's uninsured and medically underserved residents. It was established as a public-private, non-profit, 501(c)3 agency with a mission "to provide quality, cost-effective, coordinated and preventative primary health care to clients, regardless of ability to pay."

Today OTMDC, a Rural Health Center, is operated as a family practice led by an Executive Director, Medical Director, Clinical Director and Dental Director. In addition to the five nurse practitioners providing primary and urgent care services and an obstetrician gynecologist providing prenatal and specialty gynecology care we have many specialty doctors that volunteer to complete the overall care for our patients.

Our dental center has dedicated staff to include a full time dentist, dental hygienist, and dental assistants; as well as dedicated volunteers that fill those same roles.

The administrative side of Olde Towne has a knowledgeable staff that works directly with patients at check-in/out, in our MAP department, and our health educator; as well as those that are behind the scenes such as our development department and business office.

The phrase we all know at OTMDC is  "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work."
